Mike Williams to OCC?
6/24/08
Hey bloggers,

As I mentioned on the show yesterday, SU is looking to get Mike Williams back on the football field this fall if possible.  After getting some inside information over the weekend myself from some trusted sources that Williams is trying to get back in School at SU... I found a report from Buffalo TV guy Paul Peck, who ran into Williams at a hoops tourney in Mike's home town.  Here's a link to Paul Peck's blog that tells his version of the story:  http://www.news4forum.com/sports/2008/06/mike-williams-back-with-orange.html

It does seem that Williams academic issues with Syracuse do have some connection to an accused cheating situation as many had speculated.

Bud's Back!!
6/23/08

Hey Bloggers,

I don't know if it's good news or bad news, but Bud is back from vacation today!  Make sure you call in and bust his chops about how great the show was while he was away!

PGA In Trouble?
With Tiger out for the season, is the PGA in trouble?  TV ratings are sure to plummet, but does that really matter to the game of golf?  I'd say not really.  Corporate sponsors still swarm around plenty of tournaments that Tiger never plays in... so I don't see the well drying up very quickly.  Besides Tiger will be back by next year's Masters at worst.  Then they'll be even more fascination with Tiger than ever!

While Tiger's away, he'll be relaxing in his brand new home (below) in Florida.  Or will he?  Is this actually Tiger's home?  click below to find out.

Hey Bloggers,

Got the Monday blues?  So do the Lakers!  Despite beating ther Celtics, Kobe and company will be toast in Boston on Tuesday night!  LA is yet to truly show up for a game in this year's NBA Finals.  I just don't get it.  And please stop comparing Kobe to Jordan.  There is no comparison!   Listen today at 3pm for a chance to go to Vegas and see the Olympic hoops team.

Kobe won't be holding this trophy anytime soon!

Let me be the first to tell you that Carmelo Anthony is returning to the Carrier Dome.  Melo and his Denver Nuggets will play an exhibition game in October.  See the below press release for more details:

Carmelo Anthony, who helped Syracuse University to the 2003 NCAA Championship, is scheduled to return to the Carrier Dome for an NBA preseason game between the Denver Nuggets and the Phoenix Suns on Friday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the event will go on sale this Saturday, June 14, 10:00 a.m.      “I am a lot more excited about this upcoming preseason knowing that I get to go back and play in the Dome again,” said Anthony. “Syracuse and the Dome are special places for me.  It will be great to come back and play in front of everyone again.”     "We will be utilizing this event as a vehicle to help launch an expansion of our programs to Central New York, but at the same time are thrilled to be able to provide the community such an exciting and high-profile entertainment option,” said Arthur Jackson, president and founder of One on One Basketball, Inc. “This is a big time NBA event."     "This is the fifth NBA game which I have helped bring to Syracuse and it is far and away the best matchup yet,” noted Chris Cordes, the New York director of One on One Basketball, Inc. “These are the two highest scoring teams in the NBA, and in addition to Carmelo, who will forever maintain folk-hero status here, and Shaq, who is an iconic NBA figure, these rosters are peppered with current and former All-Stars and League MVPs."     The exhibition-game pairing of Denver and Phoenix features two of the highest-scoring teams from the most recent NBA campaign, as well as two rosters filled with high-profile standouts. In addition to Anthony, a former first-round pick, league all-star and key performer on the current USA Olympic Team, the Nuggets also feature former league MVP Allen Iverson and two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Camby. The Suns are led by former NBA MVP performers Steve Nash and Shaquille O’Neal.     The matchup would include no less than 15 former first-round draft choices. In addition to Anthony (third overall, 2003, Denver), Camby (second overall, 1996, Toronto), Iverson (first overall, 1996, Philadelphia), Nash (15th overall, 1996, Phoenix) and O’Neill (first overall, 1992, Orlando), there are Denver’s Steve Hunter (15th overall, 2001, Orlando), Linas Kleiza (25th overall, 2007, Portland), Kenyon Martin (first overall, 2000, New Jersey), Nene (seventh overall, 2002, Denver) and J.R. Smith (18th overall, 2004, New Orleans). Lakers Must Wake Up!
Tuesday 06-10-2008 4:03pm ET
Hey Bloggers,

I've been wondering if the Lakers are ever gonna show up for the NBA Finals.  In the first 2 games, Kobe and company seem like a disjointed gang that can't play a lick of defense.  Let's see if a return to the friendly confines of Los Angeles helps snap the Lakers back to form.  Game 3 is tonight.

What's gonna happen?  Watch below to find out.

Jaba... Big Brown... etc.
Monday 06-09-2008 12:07pm ET
Hey Bloggers,

Jaba Rules

Round 2 of the Jaba Chamberlain saga continues and unlike round 1, this one goes to the Yankees.  Jaba looked good, threw extremely hard, and despite less than 5 innings of work... the Yankees still managed to win the game.  I still think putting Jaba in the starting rotation THIS year is a mistake (because the Yanks feel its necessary to coddle him)... but only time will tell is this is a mistake or not.  Stay Tuned.

Big Brown Dud

Is it just me or are you not pleased that Big Brown and his arrogant trainer Rick Dutrow didn't win the Triple Crown?  After all but annointing his horse the champ of the Belmont Stakes, Dutrow was at a loss for words after getting trounced in Elmont, NY.  Big surprise?  I think not!  Cry me a river for poor old Rick, would ya?
And while you're at it... give some credit to the winner of the Belmont Stakes Da' Tara!  Click here to see more pics of the Belmont Stakes
Manchild Holds His Own
Monday 06-09-2008 12:07pm ET

Hey Bloggers,

Sometimes when you go into something with extremely low expectations, who can only come out ahead.  Such was the case last night, as I took on women's professional golfer and Swedish beauty Caroline Larsson and Chiefs pitcher Bill Murphy in a game of closest to the pin last night at Alliance Bank Stadium.  Expecting fully to choke in front of all those peering eyes, and after a rocky first shot, I actually didn't embarass myself.  My 2nd and 3rd attempts were a respectable 15-feet and 24-feet from the elusive pin in dead center.  While Larsson won as expected, I actually fared a bit better than the professional baseballer.  I knew Bud was wrong when he said I could never compete with an athlete on the golf course!  Look out Jim Boeheim, here I come!!
